ImageBob has been very successful with helping change the lives of other Veterans, and demonstrates the qualities we all strive for when we pursue something that we are passionate about!

Thank you for all that you have done and will continue to do, Bob! We look forward to presenting you with the Everyday Hero Award!

Bob Nevins served in Vietnam as a medical evacuation helicopter pilot for the 101st Airborne and was wounded in action in 1971. He took an early retirement as an airline captain to devote full time to the non-profit that he has created, now known as Saratoga WarHorse.

Saratoga WarHorse offers veterans a three-day experience that has proven to be effective and invaluable for those struggling to adjust to life after military service. The program is provided at no cost to the veterans. Saratoga WarHorse provides a new experience with a focus on post-traumatic stress and suicide prevention that is a vastly different approach from traditional talk therapy.

There is published scientific data supporting the Saratoga WarHorse experience. The process facilitates a profound personal connection between veteran and horse, seemingly “unlocking” a part of the veteran that has been closed down for years. Researchers are expressing a growing interest in the Saratoga WarHorse methodology and are trying to determine why the Connection Process is so effective in reducing symptoms of depression and post-traumatic stress as well as suicidal thoughts. Saratoga WarHorse has also been the subject of an award-winning TV documentary.

The unique and powerful approach of Saratoga WarHorse has been described by veterans as “life-changing beyond words.”
