Heart of Business AwardRecognizes companies who have a strong commitment to volunteering and who demonstrate a true investment into the well being of the communities in which they operate.

On April 23, 2014, O’Connell & Aronowitz will receive the Heart of Business GOBY Award. The attorneys affiliated with O’Connell & Aronowitz have contributed so much to the community for those in need, so many people have benefited on so many levels from the hard work and dedication they have so generously offered.

We are very excited to celebrate and present the Heart of Business Award to O’Connell & Aronowitz on April 23rd at the GOBY Awards!!

In 2012, over 400 honors of pro bono work was performed by our attorneys. We take seriously our professional responsibility to “render public interest and pro bono legal service to individuals seeking to secure or protect civil rights, civil liberties or public rights, or to not for profit, government or public service organizations” and to those less fortunate. (New York Lawyer’s Code of Professional Responsibility, EC 2-34).

Pro Bono In Action
♦ Associate Brittnay McMahon in September 2013 won a pro bono victory in Court representing a mother of four facing eviction with a gravelly ill child. Brittnay’s successful effort will allow the family additional time in their apartment.

♦ In April 2013, the NYS Bar Association awarded Neil Rivchin and Will Berglund the honorary designation of Empire State Counsel for their pro bono services on behalf of the most vulnerable and needy residents of the Capital District.

At O’Connell & Aronowitz we recognize we cannot exist apart from our local community. We encourage all of our attorneys to become involved in pro bono and civic activities. We have ongoing relationships in representing pro bono clients with the Albany County Bar Association and the Legal Aid Society among other organizations.

“O’Connell & Aronowitz is Proud of Our Commitment to Providing Pro Bono Legal Services to Our Community.”
