Thank you for all that you have done and will continue to do, Denise! We look forward to presenting you with the Volunteer of the Year Award! Congratulations!
Denise Horan, owner of Integrated Management & Sales Consulting (lMS) continues to give herself professionally and personally to help others especially women in transition returning to the workplace. Since May 2009, Denise has actively served on the Board of Directors for the Capital District Women’s Employment & Resource Center (WERe) where she serves as the Chair of their June Networking Event, Co-Chair on their Marketing / Fundraising Committee and active member on their Annual Awards Event Committee.
Denise has proven to be an excellent role model for women in the community presenting a positive and professional image. She easily communicates to all women in transition with compassion, understanding and respect and personally changes their lives forever. A long-time supporter of WERC, even prior to her Board service, Denise had been involved with WERC for many years. She saw a need for volunteers to help support this small non-profit, making a huge impact in the community and created, chaired and became a major sponsor to their June Networking event: First Impressions, Second Chances.
As the Principal of a woman owned business, Denise helps WERC to promote, market and raise funds for their mission. As an active member on WERe’s Annual Awards Event Committee she personally sponsors, secures major sponsors and helps to promote the event to over 365 attendees. Specifically, Denise has generously donated not only financially, she has donated and shared her experience, time, creativity in presenting various innovative marketing workshops which raises additional funds for WERe.
Denise is driven to constantly challenge herself by developing new training programs, researching the market and building her own network to add value to her client relationships. It is her attitude, work ethic and commitment to help all, men, women, young adults, and kids that has made her such an integral part of our business community. Denise’s energetic brand of volunteering always involves doing real work that in turn helps grow important resources in our community. In addition to WERC she donates her time and resources to include organizing the successful Breast Cancer Golf Classic, Pro Bono marketing for CR Kids Performing Arts (helping to increase funds and awareness), fundraising for the Double H Ranch and Participating on the Ellis Medicine Welcoming Committee. It is her firm belief that business people should give back to the community that so generously supports them and she is the first to recommend volunteer opportunities to her clients as avenues for relieving stress and strengthening those all-important networks.
